Okay, at much prompting and egging on by Filippo, I'll give this a shot.
I have two other projects ongoing (really, several more sitting for years) that I need to get done for the same time, so it's going to be a stretch to finish this. I will have to put my shop assistant to work in order to get done, if it is at all possible.

Some possible wood choices to follow...

Here's a few possibilities. I'm leaning heavily toward the Tasmanian Blackwood (Black Acacia) Terz, but the scrap piece of BRW could possibly yield the same sized instrument if I can work around the fractures. Not sure on that.
If I decided to do a 00 instead of the Terz, then this set of really nice 'Hog is just the ticket for me. It speaks to me...or perhaps that's just one of the other voices.

I can't believe you posted your high school senior class picture in this thread! Oh well.

Okay, all fun stuff with Filippo aside, I've decided to go with the acacia back and a redwood top. The redwood is some leftover scraps from a board I bought years ago. It's feather light, rings like a bell, and has more silk than any wood I've ever seen, even more than the LS top I have. It's beautiful...

I'm going to go with some newly acquired tortoise shell bindings (from CF Martin).
As yet I'm undecided about what wood I'll use for the neck. I may use mahogany, but I also have a big hunk or two (ok, lots of them) of Black Acacia from Tasmania that I might use for the neck.
Tuners will be some Sta-Tites I picked up really cheap during an OLF group buy from many moons ago.

So far my planned costs are:

B&S: $12.00
Top : $ 5.00
Tuners: $19.00
Bindings: $6.00
Neck - $20.00

So I'm in it for about $62 so far, but realistically...all the wood is scraps, leftovers from other stuff. But I guess I should assign some kind of $/bf value to it.

No decision on a rosette yet, or inlay work. I suspect I'll have a bunch of red heart abalone in this though.

Pics to follow...

I like the color in the back. Gonna look good under finish I think.

Silly Filippo, it's a Terz not a uke. But I get it...... It is a small 'un ain't it?

Steve, that color streak has a purple cast to it. It's really cool and why I liked this leftover piece of wood. There was a huge knot behind this section, and I had just enough wood there before the knot for these two slices. I'm just glad it was just long enough (barely) for the Size 5, otherwise it would have ended up as another of my Smiley-Uke's (TM) which I'm building right now for a customer in Japan.

Here's a couple of pics of that one:

Thanks Steve. I made the first one back in '03 I believe. It's always a fun project... This one is a tenor.

One of these days I'm going to do a mandolin version...

You are SO right on that. But then, it's easy to over-brace any guitar. My plans are for very light bracing. Almost uke bracing. Okay, not that light, but light. This is a first for me, so it's going to be hit or miss I suspect.

I'm afraid that I won't be able to make the deadline for this project after all. I tried, but my other work has just taken too much of my time and energies. I'm still going to finish the instrument, but it will be a few months off.

Good luck to you guys (and ladies?) !

Sorry to hear it, Don. The deadline is still a while ahead, though...? (nudge, nudge).
